Impact:
The session was very intellectual as we did poetry which is not always as easy yet it is the older and the cream of literature and language, whilst doing poetic devices we developed keen observation and conscious attention towards poetic construction.
Report:
Today's session was exciting and very intellectual. We did a poem called Hot and Cold by Rohal Dhal which was very comical and ironic. We played on the mistaken wordplay. We also did a poem canned Fire and Ice. I asked the kids what it meant. We also saw the extremes of these conditions., The kids read the short poem and I asked them to comprehend what they learned. They understood the literal meaning and then I explained the internal meaning of the poem which takes about being moderate and in balance. We saw the poetic qualities of the poem such as rhymes, alliterations and repetitions. These were the basics of reading and appreciating poetry.
