Impact:
She found it difficult to solve some harder questions( with big numbers)- so we solved those by solving the same type of question with small numbers to understand the process- to make her understand it doesn't matter- how large the number is-( I have seen this trick to be used by my school teacher to teach us and today I implemented it) if she knows the process right. Then she didn't face any difficulty as she understood the process and could solve the rest. She said to me that she didn't understand when her school teacher taught her that but now she understood. Then we did conversion of decimals to fraction and we did another worksheet. She could solve the easy and the medium ones but faced difficulty in solving the harder ones as the fraction needs to be converted into mixed fraction. But with practice and doing more and more problems she understood how to do it. Then she asked me about my calligraphy practice and for the last five minutes we chatted with each other- about our everyday life and so on... The Session was very much interactive than zoom session and the reasons are that- neither you nor the participant have any distraction. Telephonic session also improves listening skills, communication skills and understanding skills. I enjoyed the Session a lot and became a better listener. My communication skills also improved because- there's only one thing between us between us- and that's communication- I can only make the participant understand by communicating with her- there's no second way. And actually I could do that- the session went well and the participant could get what she wanted from the Session.
Report:
Conducted an Academic Session on Mathematics for class 6 at 4:15 pm. The participant faced network issues- so we decided to have a Telephonic Session. She said that she is having problems in converting fractions to decimals and vice versa and couldn't understand what her school teacher taught her- so if we can practice that. We first started practicing how to convert Fractions into Decimals and I chose a worksheet for that. Since it's a telephonic session- the participant couldn't see my screen- so I have to read the question. We started with easy problems-so that she becomes confident in solving those problems and could proceed with harder ones. Taught her a trick( over call only)- how to do the conversion easily and we used some problems to understand the trick. I also did all the problems along with the participant in my copy.
