Impact:
The girl told me that she liked how I taught and was particularly fond of my tone towards her. It gave me an understanding of how others perceive how I teach. I might have learned some process of making a child understand an author's perspective too. In the end, she told me about her schools and academics and I told her about my experiences. I made a little smart friend while doing what I like best.
Report:
It was a storytelling session and some fun and learning. It was my first time with the girl so I introduced myself and asked her to do the same. I conducted the session from 6-7 pm. We read a grade 8 story about a camel. I gave her ideas on how to read better and more enthusiastically and some more performance tips. She gladly took them. Then we played a game to test her phonics. She had fun with it and also learned several new words and their meanings. Then we got to talking and talked about our favorite authors. She asked me to read her a story of O.Henry so we did that as well, I told her about some figures of speeches and we read two stories of the author and even analyzed the summaries of the stories. All in all, it was a pretty fun session.
