Impact:
IMPACT ON LEARNERS: The students were engaged in the learning process. Deepesh and Rajbir were very actively asking queries and answering my questions. Deepesh told me that he lacks English language skills twice today and also in Saturday's class. He and Rajbir are intrinsically motivated to learn the language with shows from their enthusiasm. Om Prakash and Mahesh do not speak much during the class. I will incorporate new ways to try to make them express themselves via writing or doodling. IMPACT ON ME: I regained confidence in myself. I was having self-doubt whether I can teach or not. But now after teaching them I have boosted my self-confidence.
Report:
I planned to teach them about nouns thematically. I made the lesson plan so that we would make a semantic map on the topic 'animals'. After I wrote their responses on the whiteboard, I brought their attention to the differences and similarities of their responses. Then we classified them as underwater animals, birds, and land animals. After that, I did a Worksheet where they had to match the homes of these classified animals. In the end, I concluded that all these animals' names are nouns. In the class tomorrow I would tell them that these are common nouns. After this, we chatted, had a get-to-know session, and took a virtual selfie (which btw didn't look too good to me. Well I shouldn't be sad it was my first attempt at it.)
