Impact:
Students seem to be lacking in English, which is the main reason why I have taken English as a topic. By today, I was only able to finish 4 parts of the speech and the rest are to be taught tomorrow. They are able to understand the basic only after teaching two or three times. But they were able to answer my question at the end of the session. So, I'm glad that they are learning something new from this one-hour session. Students are smart, energetic and spontaneous while answering the questions. They are able to understand whatever we say, especially when said in their mother tongue. I am really glad that I was assigned to the students who knows Tamil, as I am comfortable with the language too. I can able to teach them in the way they understand.
Report:
I selected 'parts of speech' as the topic today. I used a video from YouTube to demonstrate the topic. Out of 8 parts of speech, we covered 4; verb, noun, adjective and adverb. I guided them the meaning, examples and the use of it in the sentence. I informed them to be ready for the tomorrow's test on the four parts of speech. After the session, we played a game 'missing letter'. Each one will write a word with missing letters in the white board and the others should find it . They were so happy after playing game and at last I revised whatever we learnt in that session and asked them to come prepared for the tomorrow's test. I have also shared the YouTube link to their coordinator so that they can revise and come for the next class. Students were very much interested in learning and listened well.
