Impact:
They practically learnt the concept of rotational symmetry and some of them understood it very well that they were able to explain the concept to others and make them also understand. The boys got ideas instantaneously, so I also can use these ideas when I teach similar concepts to others.
Report:
The boys didn't finish their homework because they had some other work and so they said that they will submit it tomorrow. Today, I explained them the concept of rotational symmetry in detail and also about the order of rotational symmetry. In order to teach them that, I used an example of two biscuits (one on top of the other). I asked them to rotate the biscuit on the top keeping the one at the bottom fixed and asked them to tell me how many times the top one matched its position with the bottom one, to make them understand that how many times they match in a complete rotation is known as the order of rotational symmetry. We did the same thing for other geometrical shapes also, for triangle and then for square. Some of them found it difficult to understand, so I used animations to teach them how to visualise the rotation of an object over another. To understand the rotational symmetry of square, the boys cut out two pieces of square from their paper then they joined them together.
