Impact:
Impact on others: 1) Reminds one to take care of hygiene 2) Recalling of the best food, exercise, mental and environmental practices for good hygiene 3) Creates a platform to systematically organize your hygiene routine so nothing falls through the cracks unknowingly. 4) Evokes questions about myths around hygiene and virus/germs Impact on me: 1) Helped me solidify my knowledge of hygiene, biology and chemistry 2) Helped me interact with multiple children with varied levels of comfort in interacting, making me understand how to involve everyone in sessions. 3) Learnt to test out the mediums for teaching (ppt/ white board/ Actions) and which ones work or fail
Report:
The way I panned for this activity was by creating a power point presentation explaining the best practices for hygiene. I made sure the presentation was mostly filled with images so the children could remember them and interact with the topic more. I made sure to start of with asking what they think of hygiene, how it's importance has risen in the present covid-19 pandemic, how we have to help others in hygiene because no one is safe until everyone is safe. I opened the platform for questions and discussions regarding myths about hygiene, we talked about the length of time you need to wash your hands to make sure the germs have died, we performed a short activity where we grouped good and bad hygiene habits from a collective set of habits. We ended with discussion whether the session was helpful or not.
