New Barrackpore

ACT- 201813

Status:
Volunteeers:
Karnika Roy  (10818)
Others-    10792   ,  ,
Impact:
This was the second session in St. George School. Sreyashi and I conducted a session with the students of Class VII. We conducted an exercise with the students to appreciate one another. We found out that the students barely knew their classmates, so we urged them to get to know each other as a small assignment. Despite that, they did have some good thing or the other to say about their peers. We discussed about not wasting food, the importance of environmental cleanliness and greenery and an introduction to the evils of drug abuse. They shared their personal experiences of witnessing drug addicts in their locality and were eager to learn more about the harmful impacts of drugs in order to safeguard themselves and others. A high point of the day was a request by the school authority to conduct a session on issues related to girls' health. Sreyashi and I promised to prepare a comprehensive and exhaustible material on women's issues and present a session at the earliest.
