"We decided to celebrate children™s birthday on Valentine’s day in Balashram, Mana camp,Raipur. So, we postponed our February 13th activity to the next day (i.e. on February 14th). Most of the children in Balashram are physically handicapped, mentally retarded and they don’t even know their birth dates. So, we decided this event to organize there. Along with cake, we purchased toys, toffees for children for celebration. On this day we started at 7:40 AM to Balashram in Mana Camp which is 13 km far from NIT Raipur. It took around half-an-hour to reach there. We planned to celebrate the event in their common room. We decorated the room with balloons and arranged music system for amusement so that children can dance and feel excited. They enjoyed as we expected. At 9:30 AM there was cake in front of them.They cut the cake and liked the taste very much. Along with toffees, cake pieces were also distributed to all of the children and we played a lot with them. We enjoyed spending time with them and at last we ended celebrations with gifts. The children in Balashram felt very happy for gifts and celebrations. The management also took a lot of interest for this celebrations. All the events were successfully completed by 11:15 AM and we returned after thanking the management of Balashram for giving us such an opportunity. We accomplished our activity successfully and felt extremely happy for the work. We hope for further efficacious activities to be done.
