Impact:
The kids are very interactive and responsive. I also got to saw some their art work which they have been preparing individually and even in groups for the fest. It is amazing to see the potential they have. Also, they were very attentive during the session. I hope the session helps them to learn about some general facts and develops a civic sense in them, which would be beneficial to navigate their paths in the future.
Report:
There were around 38 participants for the session. Before visiting the place, I consulted the coordinator, Simran, to know more about the students so that I could teach grade-appropriate material. The session that we conducted was on general and conceptual knowledge. These students have been attending regular sessions conducted by the other volunteers.
Gaurav started the session by playing catch-catch with them This made them more alert and attentive before the session kicked off. Soon, I started interacting with them by asking about their district of domicile, the languages they can speak, and their overall experience about the sessions. I spoke to them about India and her neighbours, health and hygiene, nutrition, traffic rules that should be followed, water-borne diseases and contamination of water and wrapped it up with the precautions that they should keep in mind while playing with firecrackers during Diwali.
