Today's session was about respect and positive attitude.I taught them why is it important to respect parents and teachers. The household scenarios were covered. I taught them how to say if they are facing any issues and challenges. Basically I taught them how to interact with parents and tell their opinions to them without giving back answers. I also insisted on not lying to parents. I have explained a few real life examples. Then kids also came up with some stories of the scenarios where kids didn't respect them/ their words and what happen to them. Their understanding skills were outstanding. They could relate every scenario of mine to their real life. I also told them not to fight in classrooms or homes. It's very important to listen and pay attention yo what elders are saying. It's always difficult. Initially, everyone said they respect elders. Then I raised my hand and I told I never respected parents or elders. So, gradually few kids revealed that they also dint respect parents/elders. Then I told them how I changed for the better. They seemed interested.
Later I have taken a small topic on positivism to boost their confidence. I discussed the importance of positive attitude in every work they do. I also discussed how small things can make great with positive attitude. Children seemed confident.
Later, the fun activity was being elders. As it was a teachers day, they already had the experience of being a teacher. I asked them how would they feel if none of them listens to them as a parent and teacher. They said hereafter they wouldn't disrespect anyone.
I also told them if you can respect everyone you can fetch more friends and no one will hurt you either in classroom or at home.
Overall the session was amazing because I expected children would be bored. But they themselves started telling their personal life stories. How their elder or younger siblings dint respect and how at times they dint respect elders. All I can say was they were brave enough to identify their own flaws and rectify at a very young age.
