Impact:
The students' enthusiasm in both the schools have encouraged me and made me feel more confident to take up more sessions.
Report:
Date: 19/08/2019 Session: Ignite Venue: Dhakuria Chapalamoyi Girls' High School Volunteers: 2 (Debarati & Reetick) Number of students: 23 Today was our first session at the school. Today's session was an introductory one on how a responsible citizen can actively be involved in the betterment of his/her community and the country at large. We tried to make them understand few fundamental aspects: 1. An Active and Responsible citizen takes pride in where he/she lives and strives to make it a better place and how it can change a country for the better 2. The effects of school as a place to develop active citizenship among its students. 3. And, most importantly for this way of living, how can one be responsible towards his/her own self. The students too shared their own ways to make their school, community and the world a better place. The session eventually turned out to be an interactive one. Lastly, the self-assessment forms were distributed to let them evaluate their understandings individually followed by a fun word building game which they found to be too entertaining! It was genuinely blissful seeing the students acknowledging the value of today's session and earnestly looking forward to more.
